Conguillío National Park is located about 45 minutes east of Curacautín, in Chile’s Araucanía Region. It is easily accessible via Route CH-181, which offers scenic views of native forests and the majestic Llaima Volcano. Travelers coming from Temuco can reach the park in approximately two and a half hours, enjoying the changing landscapes of the Andean foothills before entering this remarkable protected area.

How to get to Conguillío National Park?

The only official access authorized by CONAF for vehicles into Conguillío National Park is through the Melipeuco sector, located in Chile’s Araucanía Region. Below, we explain how to reach the park from nearby towns.

From Curacautín
Take Route CH-181 east from Curacautín. Continue for approximately 30 km on well-maintained roads until you reach the park entrance at Melipeuco. The total estimated travel time from Curacautín to the park is about 45 minutes.

From Temuco
From Temuco, drive east via Route 5 South and then connect to CH-181 toward Curacautín. The total journey takes approximately 2.5 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Official Entrance: Melipeuco Sector
Once in Melipeuco, proceed a few kilometers to the CONAF information center, where park entry is controlled. Here, you must present your Pase de Parques (available at www.pasesparques.cl) and your ID card. This is the only vehicle access point authorized by CONAF, with official trails, park rangers, and signage.

Other routes are not authorized by CONAF and lack official infrastructure or control. Access through these unofficial paths is prohibited.

Always check road conditions, especially during the rainy season. Conguillío National Park has a daily visitor limit, so it is highly recommended to reserve your entry in advance at www.pasesparques.cl.

Opening Days & Hours
National Park Conguillío is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 08:30 to 18:30 hrs. The last entry is allowed until 14:00 hrs.

If you have a booking through Sendas Conguillío, click here to manage your reservation. Always check the park’s current status before visiting. Remember to carry your Pase de Parques either printed or on your mobile device, along with your ID card, for entry at the park gate.

National Pass (Chilean residents)

  • Youth 13–17 years: $3,700 CLP

Foreign Pass (International visitors)
