Winter
In winter (between May and August), the climate becomes cold and wet, with average temperatures near 6°C (43°F), highs rarely exceeding 10°C (50°F), and lows that can drop below freezing to around -2°C (28°F). Precipitation increases significantly during this season, often ranging between 1,000 and 1,500 mm (39 to 59 inches), which includes snowfall that blankets the park’s higher elevations and forests. Snow accumulation can be substantial, creating a serene, white winter wonderland ideal for experiencing the unique beauty of Conguillío amid its iconic snow-covered Araucaria trees and volcanoes.
